Stray animals can band together to deal with life’s adversities. Recently a cat and a dog in South Korea were discovered together nearby a senior care center. The cat was seen comforting the dog with hugs. They have a very heartwarming story.
The dog’s name is Meong, and the cat is Yaong. People who pass by the senior care center always see them together. They do nothing but play all day long.
Meong has a bed in front of the center. That’s where she always sleeps. Yaong often sleeps beside Meong, but he prefers exploring the streets than staying in one place. Still, Meong never wanders too far away from his best friend.
The locals knew the reason why Meon remains in the same place. She’s waiting for her owners. An elderly couple used to take care of her, but they’ve abandoned her. Ever since getting left behind, Meong remained in front of the senior care center.
Nearby residents always feed Meong and Yaong. People also expressed their hope for the two to get rescued so they can find a permanent home. Fortunately, the TV network SBS TV had arranged a rescue operation.
Rescuers set a trap in front of the center. However, Meong was cautious. She felt something was different and refused to come near the trap. Yaong, however, was swiftly caught.
The rescuers used the cat to lure Meong. He was put in a cage and placed in front of the center. As expected, Meong approached her friend, and that’s when the rescuers swooped in.
Meong and Yaong underwent medical exams to find out if they had any parasites. That’s usually the biggest health concern when it comes to stray animals. Fortunately, the veterinarians didn’t find any heartworms or parasites inside Meong and Yaong.
The vets praised the residents for doing a good job nursing the strays. Some of those who took care of the two made a visit to see how they are doing. They all hope that Meong and Yaong find a good home.
