This Dog Had Separation Anxiety So His Owner Got Him A New Friend

[custom_breadcrumbs]

Separation anxiety is a real and serious issue for a lot of dogs. It is a common occurrence for dogs not to live with other pets. As a result, many dog owners are incentivized to get another dog or pet for their dog’s mental health.

What did the Owner do for Separation Anxiety?

Horlicks, the Golden retriever, has a severe case of separation anxiety. He hates being alone most of the time, so his owner thought of a solution. During Horlick’s 5th birthday, the owner got a kitten name Hero and introduced them to each other.

Hero and Holicks’s first meeting was a bit awkward. The cat has never met a big dog before. Likewise, the dog didn’t know what to do, so he just observed the cat as he explored the house.

Eventually, Horlicks started interacting with Hero. That’s when the cat realized that the dog was a gentle giant. Since then, the two of them started to bond and do everything together. They eat, sleep, talk and walk together constantly.

Hero tends to be the one who initiates play. Horlicks is more like a brother to the cat. Overall, both of them have influenced each other greatly. The Hero becomes more secure around the big dog, while Horlicks’ separation anxiety is no longer an issue.

In the past, Horlicks couldn’t be left alone. He would whine and make a fuss if his owner was not around. Nowadays, the owner can leave for over an hour and return home without any problem. She would arrive and see both pets snuggling together.

Horlicks and Hero’s friendship is the epitome of an ideal living situation for pets. It highlights the importance of having more than one pet to form companionship. It’s not every time the owner can be around the house to spend time with their pet.
