It is a certain and well-known fact that mothers would do anything for the safety and well-being of their babies. This is an instinct that is present in most creatures. So it was no surprise when a stray dog carries her newborn pup out to the road to get help for her whole litter.
Stephanie Brooks is a New Jersey native that was in California for a visit. One day, while she was outside her friend’s house, she noticed a black dog on the side of the road carrying a tiny puppy in her mouth. She placed the pup by the curb then she sat there too.
Stephanie immediately sent a message to Hope for Paws, a nonprofit rescue group that has a famous Youtube channel where they show most of their dog rescues. Seeing that the situation was time-sensitive, the rescuers rushed immediately to the area.
When they arrived, the dog, later named Jade, moved to a small bush beside a house, her baby still by her side. Joining them were her six other puppies. Stephanie placed a pet gate around them before the rescuers arrived, hoping to prevent them from leaving.
When the rescuers approached the dog mom, she quickly got into protective mode. She started growling and placed her body in between the humans and her pups. But eventually, with some gentle coaxing, they were able to calm her down and gather all of the dogs
They then brought all of them to their shelter.
Jade and her seven puppies were given a comfortable place to stay where the dog mom could nurture her babies. Sadly though, the pup that she was carrying before died.
Although Jade has calmed down a lot, especially after getting treated and fed, they noticed that she was acting like there was something wrong. They couldn’t figure out what made her act this way.
The next day, Stephanie called again and told them that her neighbor admitted to taking one of the puppies. The rescuers went back and retrieved the pup, and then they returned her to Jade. She acted better after that.
Thankfully, all of the puppies got stronger and bigger as the weeks passed, And soon, all of them found their forever families, including Jade.
