Momma Dog Adopts 7 Orphaned Puppies After Giving Birth To A Litter Of 9

Alejandra, a Spanish Greyhound, was rescued by the charitable institution Galgos del Sol in Spain. The rescuers thought she was a stray her entire life, but they were stunned when they checked if she had a microchip. She had an owner, but he didn’t want her anymore, so he signed her off to the organization.

The Situation of the Dog

The dog wasn’t in great shape, but what astonished her rescuers more was that she was pregnant. Despite her poor health, she kept her babies well until she gave birth 7 weeks after her rescue. She didn’t need help delivering 9 healthy and adorable puppies into this world.

About 2 weeks after Alejandra gave birth, the organization took in 7 orphaned puppies found on the streets without their mom. The litter needed a mother figure, and the dog was happy to look after them. She nursed and groomed them like her own children.

With 16 puppies to look after, Alejandra deserved the mom of the year award, but that was the least of her priorities. All she wanted was to ensure her puppies grew up healthy and happy. And with her rescuers beside her, there was nothing she could have done better.

Eventually, it was time for the puppies to find their forever homes. Some traveled locally to meet their new moms and dads, while the rest flew to different parts of the world to be with their adoptive families. As they settled into their new lives, their mom took her chance and enjoyed being a dog herself.

Alejandra became playful and was more energetic than ever. At that time, she was no less than 9 years old, but she acted like she was 5 years younger. And when she finally flew to Finland, she flourished even more.

It took about 5 days for the dog to adjust to her new environment. She loved playing in the snow for the first time. She was curious, and she explored everything new to her. As she started a new beginning, her new mom decided it was only right to give her a new name – Nanda, which means blissful in Sanskrit.

Nanda is now 10 years old and still acts like a young dog. With all the love she gets from her mom, she has all the reasons to be happy and worry-free.
