Here’s a heartwarming story of how an 82-year-old man had helped put smiles on dogs’ faces without expecting anything in return.
Have you ever had your own dog? Many dog owners would agree that dogs bring so much fun and laughter in one’s life. You let them into your home, thinking that you’ve got everything under control. And you probably won’t realize that they’ve got you wrapped around their little paw.
It’s incredible to see how strangers, especially elders, take care of stray dogs as if they were their very own pets. One very good example is the elder man in this story.
Eugene Bostic, a retiree, gladly opened his home to welcome stray dogs who needed the love and care they deserve. He lives in a dead-end street and owns a horse barn along with Corky, his brother. Eugene shares that sometimes, people just dump their animals in the barn with no food or water.
Sadly, a lot of residents near his hometown had left their pets behind in that area. Thankfully, Eugene had a big heart for dogs. He always fed and took them to the veterinarians. This was his generous way of giving these dogs a new beginning.
One day, he saw a tractor pulling carts with rocks in it. Being the good welder that he is, Eugene had a brilliant idea. Since he had enough time to spare, he thought of creating a dog train with those carts to make these dogs happier.
He took some of the plastic barrels, cut holes inside, placed wheels under, and tied them together. It wasn’t that long before he built a train that was enough to let a group of nine dogs sit together in it.
He placed his dogs on the train and boy did they have the ride of their lives! They became quite a sight around town! You could see just how much the dogs enjoyed their ride, and so did Eugene.
Watch the video below and see how all of them pretty much enjoyed it.
