A Loyal Dog’s fascination towards a newborn is unbelievable. Apart from that, dogs usually like being in closer proximity to infants. Berkley qualifies as a big loyal dog and is equally playful. He lives with his owner Christine Jo Miller, her husband, and their daughter Elainey, who is only two years old.
Berkley
Berkley is full of energy and loves playing around. He likes jumping as well. Miller and her husband both have spent some time with Berkley, and they sure know his behaviour well. He appears pretty big, but Berkley is irresistibly adorable and full of innocence. He has a black coat with a white patch running down his chest.
Being Cautious
When Elainey was just born, Miller feared Berkley might become troublesome around her daughter. Given the dog’s size, she was not sure about Berkley possibly hurting her daughter. Initially, Miller did not leave the dog alone with her daughter to ensure he does not bother Elainey unknowingly.
When the parents realized that Elainey loves Berkley’s company as much as he loves hers, they eventually let the dog be around her with supervision. Well, that did change after some time, and now both the dog and the daughter have become best companions.
Talk About Loyalty
Miller had put monitors in her daughter’s room to keep tabs on how well she was sleeping. She wanted to be sure of her daughter’s safety. Sometime later, after she saw the footage, she spotted Berkley visiting Elainey every night, not to disturb her, but to ensure she was safe.
He would sit gently beside her and be involved in monitoring Elainey on his own. It was like Berkley knew he had a job to do and he was diligent. For Berkley, he just had one agenda in mind, to take care of the toddler. The parents were amazed at Berkley’s dedication. He would pay Elainey a visit every night without fail. This was surely a heartwarming gesture! It shows how a loyal dog will care.
Safe At Last
Elainey is two years old now and is able to recognize the gesture Berkley intends on showing. She realizes his affection towards her and appreciates the job Berkley has taken upon himself. Miller mentions Berkley is indifferently gentle around her daughter, which is quite contrary to his personality. He is cheerful and likes to jump a lot. However, when he is beside Elainey, he is a different personality altogether. He would just come, sit, and leave after ensuring Elainey is safe. Just like a caring loyal dog.
Selfless Love
Dogs have big hearts, and they tend to go the extra mile to please their owners. Besides that, a loyal dog understands where his duty lies and could easily shift his personality to a more desired one. Contrary to his size, Berkley is extremely gentle around his little sister. He has grown to be protective of her and vice versa. Elainey loves his company. Both of them are truly inseparable and are the epitome of selfless love!
