Meet Jet, a sweet pup who has a knack for making friends. Among the many friendships that Jet was able to form, he has one of the most remarkable friendships with Curt Stickley, a garbage truck driver. It all started a year ago when Curt passed by the pup’s house.
Derek Molter, Jet’s fur dad, said that he and Jet were out in their yard when he saw Curt get down from his truck and approach them. Curt walked up to Derek and asked if he could give the pup a treat, to which Derek agreed. And from that day on, Curt and Jet have been best friends. Jet has made it his weekly routine to wait for Curt to pass by his house.
Whenever Curt’s truck drives by and Derek happens to be home, he lets Jet run outside to greet the driver, and Curt would happily give the pup some treats. However, Derek had been out of the house on a garbage day for two weeks, making Jet miss his chance to go out and greet his friend. Derek thought that only his pup was missing his friend, but it turns out that Curt also feels the same way as Jet.
When Derek got back home, he noticed a note on his mailbox. The note said, “Look Inside,” and when Derek did, he saw four pieces of dog treats to make up for Curt’s missed visits. Derek was both surprised and touched by the sincerity of Curt with his friendship with Jet. He was so touched that he took a photo of the note and the treats and posted it on Facebook.
Derek said that he even called the solid waste department in the city of Kamloops to talk to Curt’s supervisor and tell him how impressed he was with Curt. After seeing how innocent and wonderful Jet’s friendship with Curt, Derek makes sure to be home on every garbage day, so Jet and Curt won’t miss a day together. We hope their friendship will continue for a long time!
