Abused Pups
Hemi and Foreign were six months old and were found by police officer Jim Tucci in a critical condition inside a yard. They were extremely thin and were having a hard time walking. Foreign’s back legs were weak and one of Hemi’s back legs was swollen and bruised.
The two poor dogs were rushed to a local vet for assessment. It was found out that Hemi was worse than Foreign; he had severe injuries, was extremely emaciated, and dehydrated.
Niagara SPCA set up a GoFundMe account for Hemi’s medical expenses. Surprisingly, they were able to raise over $5,000, more than enough to cover his bill and his future medical needs.
Despite the cruel treatment that Hemi and Foreign received from their previous owner, they were sweet and gentle dogs. They were loving dogs toward their rescuers, so charming that Officer Tucci wanted to bring Hemi home with him!

An Immediate Adoption
Officer Tucci was a certified dog lover. He and his wife, Samantha, were talking about adopting another dog to add to their growing family. They already had a dog; a French Bulldog named Manny, but they wanted to give him a playmate. Officer Tucci called his wife to show Hemi’s photos. Right there and then, Officer Tucci decided to bring Hemi home!
Officer Tucci loved Hemi’s gentle temperament. From the time he was rescued, Hemi never showed any signs of aggression towards people. The sweet dog liked receiving belly rubs and hugs.
On the other hand, Manny showed some signs of jealousy the first time Hemi arrived at Officer Tucci’s home. Eventually, Manny and Hemi became the best dog buddies.
Meanwhile, Foreign is doing well and has found a forever home. A local sheriff’s deputy has decided to adopt her, he is only waiting for her to be given a health clearance.
It was indeed a happy ending for the harrowing story of Hemi and Foreign! For sure that they would live the best lives together with their human families.
