It is no secret that dogs are peoples’ best companions. They would like to follow their owners everywhere. Sandy is exactly that dog. He has been with Karen Manthey’s family since he was a little puppy.
He loves to accompany the family on camping trips. They are inseparable. Karen mentions that when at the campsite if Sandy does not see all the members in one place (some near the bonfire, while others a few miles away near the lake) he gets anxious. He would then keep running back and forth to ensure everyone is safe and sound.
The Great Escape
The four kids in the family go to school every day, and they often spot Sandy trying to walk along with them. However, the kids send him back to the house, since school is not right for a dog now, is it? His only concern is to follow and watch over the kids while they are away from home.
One fine morning when Sandy was extra worked up and could not hold in his urge to accompany the children to school any longer, he tried to sneak out of the house. He embarked upon his journey and managed to reach the school without letting anyone notice. Karen herself did not realize Sandy had gone missing and had reached the school. Everybody at school was quite shocked to see a dog visiting them. They walked him straight to the principal’s office. Sandy was made to wait until his owner could come and pick him up.
With His Tail Between His Legs
After some hours, Karen sees her daughter standing at the doorstep with Sandy alongside her. Karen remained amused at the sight and wondered where Sandy was coming from. The school had tried calling Karen, but her phone was not reachable. Considering the school was not far from their house, the principal allowed her daughter to guide Sandy back home. Sandy appeared a little guilty upon seeing his owner, but he was back to normal almost instantly.
Everyone loved his presence at the school. They all realized how desperate dogs are when it comes to following their owners everywhere. It proved to be an adventurous day for both the family and everyone at the school.
No One Was Bothered
Karen was feeling bad for letting Sandy interfere with the school, so the next day she stopped by the school to apologize. She was pleased to find out that no one felt bothered. They loved seeing the innocence portrayed by Sandy. Sandy indeed felt proud of his little stunt and is hopeful to sneak away with the children in the future.
Dogs are innocent creatures. They would love nothing more than to stay beside their owners throughout the day. Sandy is a grown-up dog but still considers himself a puppy. He’s constantly craving attention. He managed to entertain everybody around him the day he snuck out of the house. It is quite unbelievable to witness the way dogs dedicate their lives to their owners.
