5 Tips To Help You Work From Home With Your Dog

Table of Contents

Remote working is a reality for most of us now. It has both a positive and a negative side. While you have a bit more time to spend with your family, you can also have many distractions.

We’re pretty sure you have seen at least one funny video of a dog interrupting its owner at a work meeting. And while they’re fun to watch, it’s not that funny when it happens to you.

Today we wanted to bring you five smart tips that will make working at home with your dog a lot easier!

Make your workspace safe: Remove anything that might hurt your dog or that they can chew/break. Also, accommodate the space with some things they can play with. You can even add their bed.

Spend some time with your pet before you start working: Just as you used to do before leaving your home, you can fulfill all your pet’s needs right before you start working. Walk, feed, and pet them, and they’ll be happy and less likely to interrupt you.

Working Remotely with Dog

Train them with patience: You can train your dog on not barking when you’re in a meeting. Just make sure you’re being patient and not over stressing both of you. Remember that barking is a normal thing, and most co-workers might understand if your dog wants a bit of attention at the wrong moment.

Take puppy breaks: Just as you used to take a coffee break, you can have some small gaps to rub your dog’s belly. It’s easier if you schedule those breaks.

Treat them: Make sure to reward them when they’re behaving rightly. Any treat or chewable toy will make them happy and distracted.

We hope these tips help you have better times with your furry friend while working!
